Over the last weekend, I celebrated Sri Krishna Jayanthi at home. Sri Srinivasa Perumal (home deity) was decorated as Sri Krishnan with North Indian alangaram items. This is my first time attempting this type of alangaram and by Perumal’s grace it turned out fantastic.
I also did a simple thirumanjanam and oonjal alangaram for Sri Gopala . I hope you enjoy the alangaram pictures.

This year, aadi swathi was celebrated on 8th of August in India. On this day, all Vishnu temples in South India will have elaborate prayers for Sri Garudan as it is his birthday.
The Kal (stone) garudan in this temple which is a divyadesam is very famous in South India. Here are the pictures of the Thirunakshtram Utsavam. Thanks to the webmaster who has posted these pictures.
Do visit the website of this temple which is worth a vist.

The Sri Andal Rangamannar Sayana Sevai is done once a year during Aadi Brahmotsavam in Srivilliputtur. Thousands of devotees come to see this exquisite alangaram which last for only for a few hours. This is the alangaram which was done in Srivilliputtur. ( 2nd Aug 2008 )
The same alangaram was done for my Perumal at home. Sri Bhu Devi was decorated as Sri Andal and Sri Srinivasa Perumal as Sri Rangamannar. The saree which Perumal is wearing was blessed by Sri Andal in Srivilliputtur. This saree is worn first by Perumal after Thirumanjanam in the morning. In the evening, this saree is then worn by Sri Bhu Devi. I hope you like the alangaram pictures.

Day 10 alangaram is ekantham. On this day, in the Singapore Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple, Sri Srinivasa Perumal together with Sri and Bhu Devi is taken out on a thiru-veedi ula on a silver chariot outside the temple precin).
For my home Perumal, my wife and I took Perumal in our car. We started from our home at Hougang Central, came to Serangoon Road, passed by Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple, Sri Ramar temple, turned left to Balestier road, turned left to Race Cource Road and turn left again to Serangoon road. We did this to make a pradikshanam (circumbulation) of Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple.
Next, we passed by Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple and drove along Serangoon road/Upper Serangoon road towards Hougang Central. Once we got home, I offerd Panagam and aarathi. Day 10 alangaram was then officially over.. 🙂 Here are the alangaram photos.
I have captured this on video and will be posting it soon on my youtube account.
