(Alangarapriyan) – Brahmothsavam Day 9 Alangaram Online

On day 9 of Brahmothsavam in Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple, Singapore, Perumal togther with Sri and Bhu Devi is taken around the temple in the Thiruther. Therafter, theerthavaari thirumanjanam is performed. Once Perumal is dismounted from the Thiruther, an elaborate thirumanjanam is performed for both Utsavar and Moolavar Perumal.

As for my home Perumal, he is also taken around in a Thiruther and thirumanjanam is performed. I hope you will enjoy these photos. Stay tuned for the videos which will be posted in about a weeks time.

(Alangarapriyan) Kallazhagar Alangaram Pictures Online Now!

While the Brahmotsavam alangaram is still going on for my home Perumal, I decided to do Kallazhagar sathupadi alangaram for Perumal just before the Day 8 alangaram of Brahmotsavam. Akshaya Tritiya! – Find out more

In Singapore, Akshaya Tritiya is celebrated on the 8th of May 2008. On this day, it is said that there is no need to look for a good muhurtham to start off any auspicious work as the entire day itself is auspicious!. To summarize, it’s a believed that during this day :

– Kuchela visited Krishna in Dwarka with a handful of beaten rice (aval)  – (Krishna Avatharam)

– The Pandavas received the Akshaya Pathram (bowl) from Lord Krishna – (Mahabharatam)

– Parashurama Jayanti is celebrated 

– Sri Vyasa began the composition of Mahabharatam
